Title: In The Name Of The King Two Worlds (15)

Year: 2011

Running Time: 96 minutes

Director: Uwe Boll

Cast: Dolph Lundgren (Granger), Lochlyn Munro (The King / Raven), Natassia Malthe (Manhatten)

Notes: None.

Rating: 3

Thoughts:   A former Special Forces soldier is thrown into a medieval world where he must fulfil a prophecy, and seek redemption for his own past.

Unabashed from the failure of the first in the series, Boll returns, this time with a much smaller budget. And it doesn't seem to harm him too much.

Of course, it's much less opulent in terms of names (not that that helped the first one) or costumes and sets, but it's a better film. There's a decent pace and it's a nice change to see the modern going to the past, or rather a fantasy version of the past.

The CGI is good when used, and it bowls along. But when I say it's better, the first one was truly awful. So don't expect too much.

The story is okay but there seems to be a lot of repetition in play, and the narrative is weak. It's shot quite badly at times and only just improves on the last.

At least this time they didn't waste quite so much money.
