Title: Clash Of The Titans (12)

Year: 2010

Running Time: 102 minutes

Director: Louis Leterrier

Cast: Sam Worthington (Perseus), Liam Neeson (Zeus), Ralph Fiennes (Hades)

Notes: Won four awards.

Rating: 6

Thoughts:   Perseus, son of Zeus, is caught up in a battle between Gods.

This remake drifts further from the original myth and whilst a couple of the Gods are depicted by strong actors, the script is really just a way to join together a succession of CGI scenes.

It ends up being a bit of a letdown as it seems to lurch from scene to scene, and there is no real investment in any of the characters. For such a powerful myth at its base, it's actually quite forgettable.

Remakes will always suffer from critics but all they seem to have done is improve the effects with modern technology, but in doing so have ruined the narrative.

That's a real shame and it has always surprised me how well this did at cinemas.
