Title: In The Name Of The King - A Dungeon Siege Tale (12)
Year: 2007
Running Time: 127 minutes
Director: Uwe Boll
Cast: Jason Statham (Farmer), Ron Perlman (Norick), Ray Liotta (Gallian)
Notes: Won four awards (although one was negative).
Rating: 1
Thoughts: A man aims to rescue his kidnapped wife and avenge the death of his son, both due to the Krugs, animal warriors controlled by the evil Gallian.

Boll has a cupboard full of Razzies so I went into this with trepidation.
Monsters called Krugs don't sound great, and a lead character called Farmer isn't especially inspiring. Liotta's portrayal of the mage Gallian is laughable and sits well alongside Burt Reynolds as the King.
Both are awkwardly shoehorned into this fantasy world. Statham then plays himself, this time with a sword. That's a shame as some of the lesser known play their parts quite well. Which in itself is impressive as they have very little to go on.
The script is meek and the characters aren't given any space to develop. Add on to that the story itself is very predictable, the effects and costumes are terrible, the fight scenes feeble, and you get the picture.
I can only guess that the bulk of the budget went to the actors. If so it seems a pity to have wasted them.
