Title: Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part Two (12)

Year: 2011

Running Time: 130 minutes

Director: David Yates

Cast: Daniel Radcliffe (Harry), Rupert Grint (Ron), Emma Watson (Hermione)

Notes: Won numerous awards, including some for the whole series, won a BAFTA, nominates for three BAFTAs, nominated for three Oscars.

Rating: 10

Thoughts:   In the climax to the series Harry must battle Voldemort.

But he needs to use his mind as well as his magic, and will rely on all of his friends and supporters.

This is the perfect culmination to the series. It's got pace from the outset and there is genuine jeopardy. Indeed, numerous characters are killed.

The battles around Hogwarts are expertly staged and the attention to detail is amazing. There is fear, bravery, and more, and on both sides.

The story strands are tidied up well and it has a fitting climax. However, just like the much longer closing scenes of LOTR, I could do without the many years later trip to King's Cross.

None of them look that great having been aged, and that could have been achieved through a voice-over or something similar. It feels like it was a nice closure scene for the people involved.

But it's still one of the best fantasy-type films out there.
