Thoughts:   Tris escapes the city with some of her fellows and they find the world beyond.

They discover the truth behind it all and must battle to ensure humanity survives. After Divergent and Insurgent I really thought this would be called Resurgent!

That aside this is initially an intriguing end to the series. As with the others, the scenes look great and the cast is strong.

Characters are believable and there is always some threat to it all. We discover that life in ruined Chicago was actually just a big experiment.

It's not a wholly original idea but is well played out as a shock by the characters. Sadly the story just becomes a bit predictable, any intrigue evaporating. I don't know if that is mirrored in the books, but the charming David unsurprisingly turns out to be a bad guy.

The tosh characters that look like cannon fodder die. The good face variousand challenges then come through as heroes. It ends up drifting a little, with a run of scenes that you can see coming.

The ultimate climax to the story is strong, but it all takes a while to get there.
